30-35 hours/week

Qualifications and Skills Required

-Combination of education and relevant work experience and skills to be considered

-Post-secondary education in related field of study such as: social work, child and youth, psychology

-NVCI, CPR and First Aid, ASIST certification

-Experience working with at risk youth in schools and peer-based programs.

-Sound knowledge of the principles of restorative justice and peer conflict mediation with youth.

-Sound knowledge of evidence based interventions for youth in school.

-Sound knowledge of the roles and functions of schools, police, relevant community resources and legislation.

-Interviewing, counselling, case management, group facilitation and conflict resolution skills.

-Report writing, recording, data collection, statistical management, program implementation and evaluation skills.

-Volunteer management and supervision skills.

-Community relations, public education and collaborative skills

-Sensitivity to diversity and all cultures is essential

-Advanced oral and written communication skills in French and English is required.
